National Student Basketball Event set to Tip Off this February!

The 2008 Spring Classic in association with the Newcastle Eagles takes place Friday Feb 22nd, and will be the UK's largest commercial student Basketball Competition.

Open to university students throughout the country, the tournament takes place during the day at the Gateshead International Leisure Centre. The best two teams on the day will then move across to play the final on the same evening during the half-time interval of the Newcastle Eagles v Everton Tigers BBL Game at the Metro Radio Arena.

With a crowd of over 3,000 people expected to attend, the tournament is a once in a lifetime opportunity to showcase your skills and gain bragging rights over your competitors for the rest of the season!

At the heats at Gateshead Leisure Centre, there'll be a licensed bar, food and refreshments, live DJ, entertainment, cheerleaders, breakdancers, competitions and more!!

There will also be a bar crawl taking place after the event around Newcastle which everyone can take part in.

Entry costs £100 per team based on squads of 10, so it's only £10 per man and that also includes your entry into the Eagles game!

Spectators:

Entry to the heat stages is free so come along to Gateshead Leisure Centre between 12pm-6pm and bring your friends. There'll be R'n'B / Hip Hop DJ's playing throughout the day, licensed bar, food and refreshments, competitions, breakdancers, cheerleaders and more.........oh and of course the Basketball itself!!

Eagles Game:

The Eagles v Everton Tigers game tips off at 7.30pm. The final of the Spring Classic will be played during the half-time interval.

We have negotiated a special price of £6 for students and tickets can be purchased by email or phone.

The Classic Bar Crawl:

The Classic Bar Crawl will be starting at the Gate and moving to Sam Jacks with the end venue being Tiger Tiger. We have exclusive use of the back club in Tiger Tiger, with a dedicated entrance, top DJ's and special drinks prices for the Classic Bar Crawl only, cheaper than you'll find anywhere around town!!
