Introduction to Madrid

A variety of buildings and designs can be found in this area, contributing to the cities uniqueness and appeal to the traveller. One of the most popular tourist destinations is the Casa de Campo. Its enormous artificial lake ensures a peaceful atmosphere, while its banks offer impressive panoramic views of the city.
Madrid is also home to the most successful European club on the continent, Real Madrid. They play their home matches at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, which holds 80,000 supporters. Many students can be found in the districts of Arguelles and Moncloa. This is because drinks are generally cheaper, there are fast food restaurants and ale houses.
The city has late dining times and the well-known Cafe de Oriente is worth visiting. It is situated in the tourist area of the Plaza de Isabel II and contains many smaller restaurants and cafes. Some of Madrid’s nightlife is for Spanish-speaking locals so be careful which club you decide to go in! Clubs can have a fairly expensive entry fee, although many of them stay
