The Ultimate Travel Guide to Tallinn for students and backpackers
Introduction to Tallinn
As one of the most up and coming sports tour destinations, Tallin has a lot to offer any visitor. The capital city of Estonia lies on the northern coast of the country, along the Gulf of Finland. Heavily compared to Prague, Tallin has a rich history with houses still intact from the medieval period as well as many long cobbled streets. Since the country regained its independence in 1991, Tallin has been under extreme development with many new bars, hotels and restaurants being built.
An area popular amongst many tourist is Kadroig, which is a short walk from the city centre. This peaceful area is home to Kadroig palace and a 250 acre park. The palace is home to the Estonian art museum as well as hosting many classical music concerts. The wider area of Kadroig also contains many other art galleries and museums for your viewing pleasure.
The city is full of traditional restaurants to cater for any taste and English is widely spoken throughout the capital. Not to be deceived by the cities historic and cultural appearance, Tallin may well be the up and coming party capital of Europe with many lively bars and clubs playing all kinds of music to suit the thrill-seeking tourist.
